Speaker Calculator
Coverage, amplifier loading and PoE budgeting in one page.
Use this tool for early loudspeaker zoning checks, ceiling-speaker spacing, constant-voltage tap loading and PoE speaker switch planning.
Speaker sizing, coverage and power
Enter values and calculate.
AVIXA ceiling coverage: D = 2(H − h)tan(C/2)
AVIXA spacing: edge-to-edge D = 2r; minimum overlap D = r√2; center-to-center D = r
EPR uses sensitivity, inverse-square distance loss and headroom.
Equal speaker loads: parallel Z_eq = Z / N; series Z_eq = N × Z.
70V/100V planning load = sum of tap watts × selected reserve.
PoE switch budget uses PSE allocation by IEEE PoE type, not only device operating watts.
WORKED EXAMPLE
Example — ceiling speaker zone
In this example a 3.0 m ceiling with 1.2 m ear height and a 100° coverage loudspeaker gives an approximate floor coverage diameter. The same page also checks 70V tap load and PoE demand.
