AUDIO
Room Acoustics Scorer
Room-ratio and axial-mode screening tool using identified published criteria.
This is a pre-design screening aid. It does not replace a full acoustics model or consultant review.
Room-proportion and axial-mode screening
Enter values and calculate.
Axial modes: fₙ = n × c / (2d)
ITU-R BS.1116-3 room-proportion screen: 1.1(W/H) ≤ L/H ≤ 4.5(W/H) − 4, with L/H < 3 and W/H < 3.
For the ITU screen, H is the entered room height; the two horizontal dimensions are ordered so W ≤ L.
Bolt Area is historical room-proportion guidance and is not the same thing as an AVIXA standard.
WORKED EXAMPLE
Example — small training room
The room dimensions drive the axial mode distribution. Additional finishes and occupancy affect reverberation, so a simplified Sabine estimate is provided for concept use only.
