Engineering Verification Audit
# Craftify AV Tools — Engineering Verification Audit (v3)
## Important assurance statement
No engineering calculator can truthfully be represented as having “zero chance of error.” Correct output depends on correct inputs, current project specifications, manufacturer data, adopted code editions, standards revisions, field conditions and the limits of the model. This v3 package is therefore designed to make assumptions visible, use cited formulas, validate inputs, and avoid unsupported pass/fail claims.
## Tool-by-tool audit
### Projects
- Workflow utility, not an engineering calculator.
- Saves locally to browser storage.
- Added Print / Save PDF using the browser print engine.
- Does not claim cloud save or a database.
### Speaker Calculator
- AVIXA ceiling coverage geometry and spacing relationships aligned to the current CTS-D formula sheet.
- Electrical Power Required uses sensitivity, 1 m reference distance, inverse-square distance loss and headroom.
- Low-impedance mode checks equivalent impedance for equal speakers in pure series or pure parallel.
- 70V/100V mode sums tap wattages and applies a user-visible design reserve rather than silently hard-coding a requirement.
- PoE mode uses IEEE Type 1/2/3/4 PSE allocations (15.4/30/60/90 W) and distinguishes PD-available power.
### Feedback Calculator
- PAG and NAG equations match AV500 and AVIXA educational material.
- 6 dB feedback stability margin identified as common for speech; 12 dB as typical for program audio per AVIXA Performance Verification Guide.
### Room Acoustics Scorer
- Removed the prior unsupported 0–100 Craftify score and simplified RT60 assumptions.
- Now reports normalized geometry, axial modes, near-coincident modal pairs and an explicitly identified ITU-R BS.1116-3 room-proportion screen.
- Bolt Area is presented as historical guidance, not an AVIXA standard and not equated with the ITU criterion.
### Video Wall Sizer
- LCD active panel geometry derives from diagonal and aspect ratio.
- Bezel field explicitly means bezel width per panel side; two sides are counted at an internal joint.
- LED native-resolution estimate warns if physical tile size divided by pitch is not an integer.
### Display Resolutions
- Expanded to the 31 reference rows shown by AV500 categories.
- Exact pixel ratio is distinguished from marketing/common aspect labels.
- NTSC/PAL raster rows are labeled as raster ratios because non-square pixel formats can display at a different picture aspect.
### Bandwidth Calculator
- AVIXA raw digital-video equation used exactly as a raw transport estimate.
- Compressed systems can use manufacturer/measured bitrate instead of a guessed compression ratio.
- PCM audio is separately included.
- Link utilization is planning guidance; multicast/trunk behavior is explicitly topology-dependent.
### IP Address Generator
- Validates IPv4 octets, contiguous subnet mask, same-subnet range, start/end order, network address, broadcast address and gateway reservation.
- Generates only within the requested range.
### Clearport
- No universal AV firewall-port claim.
- Presets use protocol/registry references but are labeled templates.
- Final schedule must be verified against exact product, firmware, direction and IT policy.
### BTU / Power
- Separates W, VA and A.
- Uses exact watt-to-BTU/h conversion constant.
- Circuit utilization percentage is user-controlled and labeled planning guidance, not a universal code requirement.
- Warns that power exported outside the rack/room may not become local rack heat.
### Conduit Fill
- NEC general fill thresholds retained: 53% / 31% / 40%.
- Uses actual entered conduit internal diameter; warns that code tables by raceway type/trade size are preferred for final compliance.
- Separates AVIXA CTS-D simple jam ratio from IEEE field-bend 1.05 variant.
- Jam risk identified principally for three similar cables in bends.
### Rack Builder
- Adds selected rack capacity, used/free U, overflow detection and item removal.
- Does not claim RU fit proves thermal, depth, weight, airflow, seismic or service-clearance compliance.
- References AVIXA F502.02:2020 (R2023) rack-design standard context.
## Automated QA performed
- HTML pages checked for local link targets and shared assets.
- JavaScript parsed with Node.js.
- Headless browser execution was attempted, but the sandbox blocks local HTTP/file navigation; therefore browser-runtime QA could not be completed in this environment.
- Representative numeric regression checks performed for feedback, speaker geometry, video wall geometry, IPv4 subnet behavior, power conversion and conduit fill.
