# Source Matrix — v3 Verified Basis

## Projects
- Workflow utility; no engineering formula.
- AVIXA context: ANSI/AVIXA D401.01:2023 Documentation Requirements for Audiovisual Systems.

## Speaker Calculator
- Ceiling coverage: `D = 2(H − h) × tan(C/2)`.
- AVIXA spacing references: edge-to-edge `D = 2r`; minimum overlap `D = r√2`; center-to-center `D = r`.
- Electrical Power Required follows AVIXA CTS-D sensitivity/distance/headroom math with 1 W at 1 m reference.
- Equal speaker impedance only: parallel `Zeq = Z/N`; series `Zeq = N×Z`.
- Constant-voltage line sizing sums transformer taps and applies an explicit user-entered design reserve.
- PoE planning uses IEEE PoE type PSE allocations: Type 1 15.4 W, Type 2 30 W, Type 3 60 W, Type 4 90 W; PD-available power is lower because cable loss is allowed.

## Feedback Calculator
- `PAG = 20log(D0) − 20log(D1) + 20log(Ds) − 20log(D2) − 10log(NOM) − 6 dB`.
- `NAG = 20log(Ds) − 20log(D2)`.
- Feedback stability margin `FSM = PAG − NAG`.
- AVIXA Performance Verification Guide notes 6 dB FSM as common for speech and 12 dB as typical for program audio.

## Room Acoustics Scorer
- Axial modes: `fn = n × c / (2d)`.
- Room-proportion screen uses ITU-R BS.1116-3: `1.1(W/H) ≤ L/H ≤ 4.5(W/H) − 4`, with `L/H < 3` and `W/H < 3`.
- H remains physical room height; the larger horizontal dimension is treated as L.
- Bolt Area is historical guidance and is not represented as an AVIXA standard or as identical to the ITU criterion.
- No unsupported 0–100 acoustic score or generic RT60 pass/fail is used.

## Video Wall Sizer
- LCD panel active width/height are derived from diagonal and aspect ratio.
- Internal LCD joint adds two panel-side bezel widths at each seam.
- Total pixel canvas assumes each panel runs at its entered native raster with no processor scaling/cropping.
- LED pixel canvas is physical dimension in mm divided by pixel pitch; non-integer results trigger a verification warning.

## Display Resolutions
- Reference table contains 31 common legacy, XGA/WXGA, HD, 4K+, cinema and ultrawide rasters.
- Exact pixel ratio is mathematically reduced; common labels such as 17:9 or 21:9 are identified as approximate conventions where appropriate.
- NTSC/PAL raster ratios are not presented as guaranteed displayed picture aspect because pixel aspect ratio can be non-square.

## Bandwidth Calculator
- AVIXA raw digital-video estimate: `R = H × V × C × 1.25 × FPS × 3 × CDF` where C is bit depth and CDF is chroma decimation factor.
- 4:4:4 factor = 1; 4:2:2 ≈ 2/3; 4:2:0 = 1/2.
- PCM audio = channels × sample rate × audio bit depth.
- Compressed systems can use manufacturer/measured bitrate instead of relying on a generic compression ratio.
- Link-utilization thresholds are clearly labeled planning guidance, not an AVIXA standard.

## IP Address Generator
- IPv4 syntax and subnet logic based on standard IPv4/CIDR concepts.
- Validates contiguous mask, same-subnet start/end range, network address, directed broadcast address, start/end order and optional gateway reservation.
- Private address use is referenced to RFC 1918, but the generator also works with other valid IPv4 ranges if the user enters them.

## Clearport
- Workflow utility, not a formula tool.
- IANA service registry and protocol RFCs support generic protocol presets.
- Presets are templates only and never treated as proof that an AV product requires a port.
- Final firewall schedule must be verified against selected product/firmware, source/destination, direction, multicast/discovery requirements and client security policy.

## BTU / Power Calculator
- Apparent power: `VA = V × A` for the single-phase planning model used here.
- Real power: `W = VA × PF` when power factor is known.
- Heat: `BTU/h = W × 3.412141633` if that real power is dissipated in the room.
- Circuit count uses user-selected usable loading and is explicitly planning guidance, not a universal code rule.

## Conduit Fill Calculator
- Fill: `Σ cable area / raceway internal area × 100`.
- General NEC Chapter 9 Table 1 fill limits used: 1 cable 53%, 2 cables 31%, 3+ cables 40%.
- AVIXA CTS-D simple jam-ratio reference: conduit ID / average cable OD.
- Optional IEEE field-bend variant for three equal cables: `1.05 × ID / OD`; 2.8–3.2 is flagged as the jam-risk region for that method.
- Final code compliance requires actual raceway type/trade-size data and circuit-class separation checks.

## Rack Builder
- 1U = 1.75 in = 44.45 mm nominal mounting-unit spacing.
- Tool sums whole-number RU occupancy and entered watts only.
- AVIXA context: F502.02:2020 (R2023), Rack Design for Audiovisual Systems.
- RU fit does not verify depth, rails, weight, airflow, thermal performance, service clearance, seismic requirements or cable management.
