CAD-to-BIM work is not simply importing DWG linework into Revit. The approved information must be interpreted, mapped to suitable families and placed within the current project model using the correct levels, coordinates, hosts and documentation standards.

We begin by confirming which CAD information is authoritative and which elements need to become model objects. We then establish the family, parameter, view and sheet approach required for the project rather than recreating every line without purpose.

The converted model can support coordination, updated drawing production and future revisions. Any discrepancy between the CAD design and current architectural or MEP backgrounds is recorded for project-team review.

Before we start.

Will every CAD line become a Revit object?

Not necessarily. A useful conversion models the elements needed for coordination and documentation. We agree the conversion scope and required level of detail before production.

Can you use our existing Revit families?

Yes. We can map CAD symbols and equipment to your approved family library and parameter standard. Missing content can be identified separately.

What happens if the CAD and Revit backgrounds do not match?

We record the discrepancy and seek direction from the responsible project stakeholder. We do not silently move approved AV devices or alter engineering intent.

Can you create sheets from the converted model?

Yes. The scope can include model-based plans, RCPs, elevations, sections, schedules and coordination views using the supplied template and standards.
